Saily eSIM: plans, prices and limits

What Saily sells

Saily's country plans in our price table commonly offer 1 GB for 7 days, then 3 GB, 5 GB, 10 GB and 20 GB for 30 days. These are fixed allowances, so pick both the amount of data and the validity period that fit your trip.

Unlimited options vary by destination. Saily lists Japan plans for 15 days and 30 days, while its United States page includes a 10-day option. Its Europe regional plan also offers 50 GB for 90 days.

Beyond destination data plans, Saily advertises Ultra as an unlimited global plan. It also offers a separate monthly subscription for calling and texting with a US phone number through the app. Do not treat that phone-number offer as a feature included with every destination plan.

Prices on the destinations we track

Saily's prices vary noticeably by destination, checked Oct 2026. For 1 GB over 7 days, Saily lists Thailand at US$2.99, Japan and several other destinations at US$3.99, and Canada at US$5.29. The starting price alone does not tell you what a larger plan costs.

For 10 GB over 30 days, Saily lists Thailand at US$10.99, Spain at US$15.99, Japan at US$17.99 and Canada at US$30.99. Saily's Europe regional option costs US$35.99 for the same allowance and validity, more than those individual-country examples.

Larger fixed plans reduce the price per GB in the destinations shown. Saily's Japan plans work out to US$3.99 per GB for 1 GB and US$1.25 per GB for 20 GB. You pay more upfront, so that saving matters only if you need the allowance.

Compare validity as well as price. In Canada, Saily lists both 20 GB for 30 days and unlimited data for 15 days at US$43.99. The same price buys a different duration and a different way of limiting your data.

Fair use, speed and hotspot

Saily's Japan, United States, Europe, Italy and Thailand pages list 5 GB per day without a speed limit, followed by unlimited data at up to 1 Mbps. Canada is an exception: Saily's page lists 3 GB per day without a speed limit, then unlimited data at up to 1 Mbps.

Saily's general unlimited-plan explanation describes a 24-hour allowance period. Its fair-use article says speeds can fall to 1 Mbps or less after 5 GB until that period resets. Use the destination allowance rather than assuming the general 5 GB description applies everywhere.

Saily advertises unrestricted hotspot access on several destination pages, including the United States, United Kingdom, Italy and France. Its Europe page also advertises unlimited hotspot sharing. However, Saily's fair-use article prohibits excessive tethering or hotspot use, continuous content streaming and bulk machine-to-machine applications.

That is a meaningful qualification to the hotspot wording. Saily says fair-use violations can lead to reduced speeds or limited access, and extreme cases can result in suspension or termination. Unlimited hotspot sharing is not a promise of unrestricted heavy use.

App, setup and support

Saily says to download its app, install the eSIM and buy a data plan. The plan activates when you reach your destination. For regular non-subscription data plans, Saily's terms also specify automatic activation 180 days after purchase if you have not activated it yourself.

You can add new destinations to your existing Saily eSIM without installing another eSIM each time. Auto Top-Up is optional. Saily says it automatically buys another plan when the current plan is depleted and remains enabled until you turn it off in the app.

Saily describes these app security features in its terms:

• Virtual Location encrypts your connection by routing activity through a remote server and changes your apparent location. You turn it on when you want it.
• Ad Blocker uses DNS filtering. Saily says it does not block ads hosted directly on the content you access, so it cannot block every ad.
• Web Protection uses DNS filtering to block many trackers and potentially malicious websites. It and Ad Blocker may be enabled by default when your plan activates; you can disable them.

Who Saily suits

Saily suits you if you want a fixed allowance and are comfortable monitoring your data, or if a daily full-speed allowance followed by slower access fits your usage. Its reusable eSIM and optional top-ups also suit repeat travel without repeated installations.

Be more cautious if you need sustained high-speed data or extensive laptop tethering. The unlimited plans have daily speed limits, and the fair-use policy qualifies the hotspot claims. Before buying, compare your destination's fixed and unlimited options by allowance, duration and price rather than by the unlimited label alone.

For help, Saily advertises 24/7 in-app live chat. Open Help, select Chat with us and start the conversation. That gives you a support route, but it does not remove the plan limits.
