Prices as listed on each provider's Europe page in USD. Per-GB is our calculation. Unlimited plans have no per-GB figure because the price does not depend on use.
Which plan size fits your trip to Europe
Start with the days you need coverage, then choose a data allowance. Saily lists 1 GB for 7 days at US$4.99, the lowest entry price in our price table. It keeps your initial spend low, but you have a fixed allowance rather than unlimited data.
For a longer stay, Saily lists 3 GB for 30 days at US$12.49 and 10 GB for 30 days at US$35.99. Choose between them based on how much data you expect to use, not the validity period alone.
Saily's 50 GB plan lasts 90 days and costs US$95.99. At US$1.92 per GB, it has the lowest price per GB in our table. That does not make it the right purchase for a short trip: compare the total cost and the allowance you will use.
Unlimited plans and their limits
Compare unlimited plans for the same trip length. For 15 days, Airalo lists US$49.00, Saily US$49.99, and Holafly US$51.50. The prices are close, but the stated limits differ.
Saily lists 5 GB per day without a speed limit, followed by unlimited data at up to 1 Mbps. Saily also lists unlimited hotspot sharing. If you plan to share your connection, weigh that hotspot policy alongside the daily full-speed allowance.
Holafly allows hotspot sharing of 1 GB per day. It also says network operators can temporarily reduce speeds under a fair usage policy for no more than 1 day, with the restriction resetting the following day.
The Airalo and Nomad provider pages we checked do not state a speed cap or hotspot allowance. Do not treat that absence as confirmation of unrestricted use. Nomad's listed unlimited option costs US$19.00 for 5 days.
How many countries the regional plans cover
Airalo lists 41 countries for its Europe package. Saily lists 35 countries. The Holafly and Nomad provider pages we checked do not state a regional country count. A larger count is useful only if the plan includes the places on your route.
For a multi-country trip, check every destination against the provider's included-country list before buying. Airalo describes its Europe package as a single eSIM covering its included countries. Holafly also says you can travel between included countries without switching eSIMs.
If your trip stays in a single country, compare a single-country plan with the regional options rather than paying for regional coverage by default. Our Europe price table does not establish that a single-country plan is cheaper.
Check territories separately. Nomad warns that coverage may exclude overseas territories under a listed country's jurisdiction and asks you to confirm with customer support before purchasing.
Networks and coverage
Country inclusion and network service are separate checks. Holafly lists 5G where available, plus 4G and LTE. Saily lists 3G, 4G, LTE, and 5G depending on local network providers, and says coverage quality depends on those providers.
Nomad lists 5G and 4G connectivity. It says its Europe eSIM often offers more than a single local network and automatically finds a local network to connect to.
Use those network descriptions alongside the included-country list. They are not a promise of the same connection everywhere on your route. Saily's explicit dependence on local providers is a useful reminder to compare coverage as well as price.
Before you fly
Check installation and activation separately. Airalo says you can install before leaving home with a stable internet connection. It also says you can connect the eSIM in advance while outside the coverage area, ready to use your package on arrival.
Holafly says you can install before or during your trip. Its plan starts when you arrive and turn on the eSIM, connecting to a supported network. Holafly's Europe plan is data-only and does not include a local number for traditional calls or text messages.
Saily gives its plans a 180-day activation period, after which an unactivated plan activates automatically. Nomad gives you 60 days from purchase before automatic activation starts the expiry period; it also says the plan starts automatically when connected to the destination network.
If you may need more data, check the refill process. Saily says a new top-up plan activates when your first plan runs out. Nomad says an add-on activates when your initial plan expires.
Questions travelers ask
How many countries does a Europe eSIM cover?
It depends on the provider. Airalo lists 41 countries and Saily lists 35. Check your destinations against the included-country list rather than relying on the Europe label.
Can I use the same eSIM in different European countries?
Airalo describes a single Europe eSIM package for its included countries. Holafly also says you can travel between included countries without switching eSIMs. Confirm that every stop is included before buying.
Are unlimited Europe eSIM plans unlimited at full speed?
Not necessarily. Saily lists 5 GB per day without a speed limit, then unlimited data at up to 1 Mbps. Holafly says network operators can apply temporary fair usage speed reductions for no more than 1 day.
Can I share my Europe eSIM data with a laptop?
Saily lists unlimited hotspot sharing. Holafly allows you to share 1 GB per day. Compare those policies if your laptop or another device needs to use your phone's connection.
