Prices as listed on each provider's Asia page in USD. Per-GB is our calculation. Unlimited plans have no per-GB figure because the price does not depend on use.
Which plan size fits your trip to Asia
Match both the data allowance and the validity period to your trip. Saily's 1 GB plan lasts 7 days and costs US$4.99. Its 5 GB plan lasts 30 days and costs US$19.49. The longer validity gives you more time to use the allowance, not more data than the package lists.
For a longer trip, Saily lists 25 GB for 60 days at US$48.99. That works out to US$1.96 per GB, the lowest price per GB in our Asia price table. It is a lower unit price, but you still pay for the full package. Choose it for the allowance and duration you need, rather than the unit price alone.
If you stay in a single country, compare that destination's plan with the regional options before you buy. You do not need multi-country coverage for a route that stays within that country. For a trip with border crossings, start by checking every destination against the regional plan's included-country list.
Unlimited plans and their limits
Compare unlimited plans by trip length, then read the limits. Airalo lists 7 days at US$26.00, while Holafly lists 7 days at US$27.50. For 30 days, Airalo lists US$73.50 and Holafly US$76.50. The price difference does not tell you how hotspot sharing or speed restrictions work.
Holafly allows you to share 1 GB per day through a hotspot. Its 7-day plan therefore includes 7 GB of sharable data. That is a separate limit from the unlimited data advertised for use on your phone, so check it closely if you plan to connect a laptop or another traveler.
Holafly says network operators can apply a Fair Usage Policy in rare cases, reducing speed for no more than 1 day, with the restriction resetting the following day. The Airalo provider page we checked does not state a speed cap or hotspot allowance.
Saily says hotspot sharing is unlimited, but its Asia packages have fixed data allowances. Do not read unlimited sharing as an unlimited-data package.
How many countries the regional plans cover
Saily lists coverage in 22 countries across Asia and Oceania. That count covers the combined region, not Asia alone. The Airalo and Holafly provider pages we checked do not state a total country count.
Airalo says its Asia eSIM works as you move between countries without swapping. Holafly also says you can travel between its included countries without switching eSIMs. The key word is included: compare your full itinerary with each provider's coverage list before choosing a regional package.
A larger country count is useful only if it includes your stops. For a multi-country trip, choose around the route rather than the regional label. If you stay in a single country, use its destination plan as a comparison point; the regional coverage count adds little to that decision.
Networks and coverage
Holafly names KDDI and Softbank for Japan, and SK Telecom and LGU+ for South Korea. It advertises 5G where available, as well as 4G and LTE. Those network details help you check the destinations on your route, but the availability wording matters.
Saily lists 3G, 4G, LTE, and 5G depending on local network providers. It also says coverage quality depends on those providers. Keep country inclusion and network availability separate in your comparison: a destination can be included without the page promising the same connection type throughout your stay.
Before you fly
Confirm that your phone supports eSIM before purchasing. Then check the installation and activation instructions for the provider you choose. Airalo says you can install in advance with a stable internet connection and connect the eSIM ahead of arrival while outside the coverage area.
Airalo says the eSIM must be turned on and selected for data. Holafly says its plan begins when you arrive at your destination and turn on the eSIM. Saily gives its plans a 180-day activation period and says they activate automatically if left unactivated through that period.
Check how you will add data, too. Airalo offers top-ups when available. Saily lets you top up in its app, with the new data plan activating after the first runs out. If you need a phone number, Holafly's Asia eSIM is data-only; Saily offers calls and SMS through its phone-number, minutes, and text-message plans.

Saily lists 22 countries across Asia and Oceania. Check its included-country list against your itinerary, since the count covers both regions.

Airalo and Holafly say you can move between included countries without switching eSIMs. Confirm that every stop on your route is included before buying.
Can I hotspot with an unlimited Asia eSIM?
Holafly allows 1 GB of hotspot sharing per day on its unlimited Asia plans. The unlimited phone-data allowance does not remove that sharing limit.
