Prices as listed on each provider's Mexico page in USD. Per-GB is our calculation. Unlimited plans have no per-GB figure because the price does not depend on use.
Which plan size fits your trip to Mexico
Match the validity period to your trip before comparing the data allowance. For a short stay with limited data needs, Saily lists 1 GB for 7 days at US$4.99. For a longer stay with the same allowance, Yesim lists 1 GB for 30 days at US$5.76. More validity does not mean more data.
For a middle-sized allowance, Saily lists 5 GB for 30 days at US$14.99. Airalo lists 5 GB for 15 days at US$17.50. Choose around the allowance you expect to use and the days you need, rather than treating a longer validity period as a reason to buy.
If you expect heavier use, Saily's 20 GB plan for 30 days costs US$37.99, or US$1.90 per GB. That is the lowest price per GB in our Mexico price table. The trade-off is the larger upfront purchase: a lower unit price only helps if you need the allowance.
You can also plan around adding data later. Saily says you can top up in its app, with the new data plan activating after your current plan runs out. Nomad offers add-ons that activate when the initial plan expires.
Unlimited plans and their limits
Compare unlimited plans by duration, then read the restrictions. Airalo lists unlimited data for 7 days at US$23.50; Holafly lists the same duration at US$24.50. The price difference does not tell you how either plan handles sustained use or data sharing.
Holafly says network operators may apply a Fair Usage Policy in rare cases for no more than 1 day. Its hotspot allowance is separate: Holafly allows you to share 1 GB per day, so its 7-day plan includes 7 GB of shareable data. Unlimited phone data does not mean unlimited hotspot data.
Yesim says speeds may be limited under the network operator's Fair Usage Policy. Its Mexico page also describes reduced speeds after a daily usage limit and says hotspot access depends on the operator. The provider pages we checked do not state numeric daily high-speed allowances or reduced-speed caps for Airalo, Nomad, or Yesim.
If sharing data is a priority, compare those terms with Saily's fixed-data plans. Saily advertises unrestricted hotspot sharing, but you still choose a plan with a stated data allowance. Pick based on both your phone use and the data you intend to share.
Networks and coverage
Airalo names Movistar as its primary network and indicates another network. Holafly names Movistar Mexico and Telcel. Nomad names AT&T and Movistar, and advises checking your specific plan for network availability and speed because coverage can vary by location and time of day.
For a city trip, Holafly describes strong urban coverage and names the Frida Kahlo Museum, Teotihuacán, and Chichén Itzá as destinations served subject to local network availability. Nomad mentions Mexico City, Cancun, and Oaxaca. These destination mentions are not a promise of coverage at every stop.
For beach and island trips, read Holafly's exclusions closely. Holafly says its Mexico eSIM has no coverage on Holbox Island or Contoy Island, in Chiquilá or Ojo de Agua, or along certain sections of the road between Playa del Carmen and Mérida. It also warns that coverage may be weaker or unavailable in rural areas, on islands, and on roads away from main populated areas.
Saily mentions Cancun and Puerto Vallarta, but the provider pages we checked do not identify its Mexican network partners or those of Yesim and Ubigi. Use the named networks and route-specific warnings to compare plans, without assuming another provider covers Holafly's excluded locations.
Before you fly
Check your phone's eSIM support before buying, then read the installation and activation instructions for your chosen provider. Airalo says you can install in advance with a stable internet connection. It also says you can connect the eSIM before arrival while outside the coverage area.
Holafly sends the eSIM by email after purchase and says the plan begins when you arrive and turn it on. Saily says activation is automatic on arrival in Mexico if you have turned on the Saily eSIM in your device settings and enabled roaming.
Keep purchase windows separate from plan validity. Nomad requires activation within 60 days of purchase and says the plan starts automatically when it connects to the destination network. Yesim requires activation within 180 days of purchase; its validity begins when it connects to a compatible network.
Check calls and texts separately from data. Holafly's Mexico eSIM is data-only, without a local number for traditional calls or texts. Saily offers calls through a minutes plan and texts through a phone-number and text-message plan. Saily says call minutes cover incoming and outgoing calls.
Questions travelers ask
What is the cheapest Mexico eSIM in your table?
Holafly has the lowest entry price in our table: unlimited data for 1 day at US$4.90. If you need longer validity with a small fixed allowance, Saily lists 1 GB for 7 days at US$4.99.
Can I use a Mexico eSIM as a hotspot?
Holafly allows hotspot sharing of 1 GB per day. Saily advertises unrestricted hotspot sharing on its fixed-data plans. Yesim says hotspot access depends on the operator, so do not treat its sharing feature as an unconditional allowance.

Holafly explicitly excludes Holbox Island from its Mexico eSIM coverage. It also excludes Contoy Island, Chiquilá, Ojo de Agua, and certain road sections between Playa del Carmen and Mérida.
Can I install my Mexico eSIM before traveling?
