Pick a Taiwan eSIM by matching its validity to your trip, then comparing the data allowance and any speed or hotspot limits. For a city break, a fixed-data plan may fit your needs without paying for unlimited data. For heavier use, read the unlimited terms before choosing.
Our price table compares Airalo, Holafly, Saily, Nomad, and Ubigi, checked Oct 2026. The sections below explain the trade-offs behind those prices, including the local networks providers name and what unlimited data means on their Taiwan pages.

Longest listed plan is 3 days, shorter than your 7-day trip: you would need a second plan or a top-up.

Fair-use notes, quoted from provider pages
Start with how long you need the connection. Ubigi lists 10 GB for 7 days at US$12.00, or US$1.20 per GB. That is the lowest price per GB in our Taiwan price table, but its short validity matters: a larger allowance does not help if the plan expires before your trip ends.
For light use on a short city trip, Saily's 1 GB for 7 days costs US$3.99, the lowest entry price in our table. You spend less upfront, but you also have much less data to work with. Choose it for a small allowance, not because its headline price makes it comparable to a larger plan.
For a longer stay, Saily lists 3 GB for 30 days at US$8.99 and 10 GB for 30 days at US$19.99. These give you a longer validity window than Ubigi's 7-day option. Pick the allowance around what you expect to do on mobile data during your city days, rather than buying extra GB solely for a lower unit price.
Unlimited data does not mean unlimited full-speed use or unlimited sharing. Saily's Taiwan page describes its Unlimited GB plan as 5 GB of high-speed 4G/5G data per day. After that, Saily reduces the speed to 1 Mbps for the rest of the day. Saily says every plan supports hotspot sharing.
Holafly describes a different restriction: network operators may temporarily apply a Fair Usage Policy in rare cases. Holafly says a speed reduction lasts no more than 1 day and resets the following day. Its hotspot allowance is separate from its unlimited phone data: Holafly lets you share 1 GB per day.
For 7 days, Airalo lists unlimited data at US$27.00 and Holafly at US$27.90. For 30 days, Airalo lists US$69.00 and Holafly US$73.90. The provider pages we checked do not state an Airalo speed cap or fair-use threshold, so do not treat the price difference as evidence of fewer restrictions.
If you need to connect a laptop or another traveler, give hotspot terms as much attention as the main allowance. Holafly's stated sharing limit may matter more to you than the unlimited label. With Saily, weigh the stated daily high-speed allowance against the reduced speed after you use it.
The local network names help you compare what each provider discloses. They do not, by themselves, establish which plan gives you a stronger signal at your accommodation or throughout your itinerary.
Check that your phone supports eSIM before you buy. Saily says its eSIM works with eSIM-compatible smartphones. Follow your chosen provider's installation instructions, and distinguish installing the eSIM from starting the plan.
Airalo says you can install in advance with a stable internet connection. In the coverage area, turn the eSIM on and select it for data. Airalo also says top-ups are available for some eSIMs; check for a top-up package before relying on that option.
Nomad lets you buy and install before departure, but you must activate within 60 days of purchase. Its page says the plan starts automatically when connected to the destination network, while some eSIMs require manual activation. Check your installation email. Nomad also offers add-ons that activate when the initial plan expires.
Holafly emails the eSIM after purchase and says validity begins when it connects to a supported network. Its Taiwan plan is data-only, with no local number for traditional calls or texts. For city trips, Holafly describes urban coverage as excellent, but warns that coverage in mountains may be weaker or unstable. Treat that as a provider claim, not a guarantee for every stop.
Saily has the lowest entry price: 1 GB for 7 days at US$3.99. Ubigi has the lowest price per GB: 10 GB for 7 days at US$12.00, equivalent to US$1.20 per GB.
Saily reduces its Unlimited GB plan to 1 Mbps after 5 GB of high-speed data in a day. Holafly says network operators may apply a temporary fair-use speed reduction that resets the following day.
Saily says every plan supports hotspot sharing. Holafly allows you to share 1 GB per day, even though its phone data is unlimited.
Saily names Chunghwa Telecom alongside Taiwan Mobile and Far EasTone. Nomad names Chunghwa and Taiwan Mobile on its Taiwan page.
