Pick your Portugal eSIM by matching the allowance and validity to your trip, then check coverage and sharing rules. Our price table compares Holafly, Saily, Nomad, Yesim, and Ubigi, with prices checked Oct 2026.
If you stay in Portugal, compare the country plans above. If you also visit Spain, check a regional Europe plan: Saily says its Europe plan covers both destinations, while its Spain-only plan does not provide data in Portugal. For Madeira or the Azores, look for an explicit coverage statement rather than relying on the country label.

Our estimate of daily use (an assumption, not a provider figure): Light 0.5 GB, Normal 1 GB, Heavy 2.5 GB a day. Prices: provider pages, checked Oct 2026.
10 GB covers your estimate of 7 GB for 7 days.
Unlimited plan. The provider page we checked did not state a daily speed cap.
Unlimited, with a fair-use rule on the provider page: "All Holafly plans include unlimited data and up to 1 GB of phone hotspot sharing daily, which is more than enough to supply multiple connected devices with…"
Largest listed plan covering 7 days has 1 GB, below your estimate of 7 GB: expect a top-up.
Longest listed plan is 3 days, shorter than your 7-day trip: you would need a second plan or a top-up.

Fair-use notes, quoted from provider pages
Start with how much data you expect to use, not the lowest price per GB. Yesim lists 1 GB for 30 days at US$3.00, the lowest entry price in our price table. Saily lists 1 GB for 7 days at US$3.99. The Yesim option gives you a longer validity period, but the same data allowance.
For a larger allowance, Saily lists 5 GB for 30 days at US$9.99 and 10 GB for 30 days at US$16.99. Both have the same validity, so choose between them based on your data needs rather than your trip length.
Saily's 20 GB plan costs US$27.99 for 30 days, or US$1.40 per GB. That is the lowest price per GB in our price table, but it means paying more upfront. A smaller allowance can cost less overall if you do not need the extra data.
For Portugal and Spain, Saily gives you a choice between separate country plans and a Europe plan covering both. Check the regional plan's country list against your itinerary before comparing its price with separate plans.
Compare unlimited plans over the same validity period. Ubigi lists 7 days at US$19.00, compared with Holafly's US$27.50. For 15 days, Ubigi lists US$34.00 and Holafly lists US$50.50. For a shorter stay, Nomad lists unlimited data for 3 days at US$11.00.
Unlimited data does not mean unrestricted sharing or a promise of unchanged speed. Holafly allows 1 GB of hotspot data per day. Its Portugal page also says operators may apply a Fair Usage Policy in rare cases, temporarily, for no more than 1 day.
Yesim warns that speed may be limited under the network operator's Fair Usage Policy. Its page explains that reaching a daily usage limit can lead to throttling. The provider pages we checked do not state a numerical daily threshold or reduced speed for Yesim, or a fair-use threshold for the listed Ubigi and Nomad unlimited plans.
If sharing data matters, compare those rules alongside the price. Saily states unlimited hotspot sharing on its Portugal page, while Yesim says hotspot availability depends on the operator. Saily's sharing permission does not change the fixed data allowance you buy.
Holafly and Saily name MEO, NOS, and Vodafone Portugal on their Portugal pages. Nomad names Vodafone and MEO. These network names help you compare the plans, but they are not a guarantee of the same connection everywhere. Nomad says availability and speed can vary by location and time of day.
Holafly lists 5G where available, as well as 4G and LTE. Saily lists 3G, 4G, LTE, and 5G depending on local providers. Nomad lists 5G and 4G, with a reminder to check the specific plan details.
For island travel, Holafly explicitly includes mainland Portugal, Madeira, and the Azores without changing eSIMs. Saily names Madeira in its coverage list, alongside destinations including Lisbon, Porto, and Faro, and says coverage quality depends on local providers.
Nomad warns that coverage may exclude overseas territories and asks you to contact support before buying. If your itinerary includes Madeira or the Azores, confirm the exact island coverage rather than treating a Portugal plan label as confirmation.
Check your phone's eSIM support before purchasing, then separate installation from the start of validity. Nomad says you can buy and install ahead of time; the plan starts when it connects to the destination network. You must activate it within 60 days of purchase, after which it starts automatically.
Holafly says its plan activates when your eSIM connects to a supported network. Yesim also starts validity upon connection to a compatible network and lists activation within 180 days of purchase. Saily gives its plans a 180-day activation period, with automatic activation if you leave the plan unused beyond that period.
Saily sends a QR code by email after a website purchase, or shows the eSIM in your profile after an app purchase. If you need more data later, Saily says a top-up activates once your first plan runs out. Nomad says its add-on activates when the initial plan expires.
Check calling requirements separately from data. Holafly's Portugal eSIM is data-only and has no local number for traditional calls or texts. Saily says calls require a minutes plan and SMS requires a phone number and text message plan; do not assume those are included in the listed data allowance.
Saily says its Spain-only plan does not provide data in Portugal. For both countries, it offers separate country plans or a Europe plan covering both destinations.
Holafly explicitly includes both Madeira and the Azores. Saily names Madeira in its coverage list. Nomad warns that overseas territories may be excluded and asks you to confirm with support before purchasing.
Saily states unlimited hotspot sharing, subject to the data allowance you buy. Holafly allows 1 GB of shareable data per day. Yesim says hotspot availability depends on the operator.
Holafly's Portugal plan does not include a local number, traditional calls, or texts. Saily says it offers a phone number with calls through a minutes plan and SMS through a text message plan, separate from data-only use.
