Pick a Vietnam eSIM by matching its validity to your trip, then compare the data allowance, named networks, and limits. For a long route from north to south, a low starting price matters less than having enough days and understanding where coverage may vary.
Our price table compares Airalo, Holafly, Saily, Nomad, Yesim, and Ubigi, checked Oct 2026. Use the plan finder above to narrow the options; the differences below help you choose without reading every row again.

50 GB covers your estimate of 7 GB for 7 days.
Longest listed plan is 5 days, shorter than your 7-day trip: you would need a second plan or a top-up.

Fair-use notes, quoted from provider pages
Start with validity, not price per GB. Yesim lists 1 GB for 30 days at US$3.00, the lowest entry price in our table. Saily lists 1 GB for 7 days at US$3.99. Both have the same allowance, but Yesim's longer validity gives you more time to use it. Neither gives you more data because you stay longer.
For a longer north-to-south trip, compare larger allowances that cover your travel dates. Yesim lists 20 GB for 30 days at US$26.40, while Saily lists 20 GB for 30 days at US$28.99. That is a useful like-for-like price comparison, but hotspot rules and coverage still matter.
Ubigi lists 50 GB for 30 days at US$36.90, or US$0.74 per GB, the lowest price per GB in our table. It is worth comparing if you expect to use a large allowance. A smaller plan costs less overall if you do not need that much data.
If your route extends beyond the plan's validity, check extension options before buying. Nomad offers add-ons for more data or a longer plan. Airalo says top-ups are available in many cases, so confirm availability for the package you choose.
Unlimited does not mean unlimited full-speed data or unlimited tethering. Saily says its unlimited plan provides high-speed data up to 5 GB per day, then slows the connection until the next day. Saily also says it places no restrictions on hotspot sharing; that does not remove the daily high-speed allowance.
Holafly allows you to share 1 GB per day by hotspot. It also says a network operator's Fair Usage Policy may apply in rare cases, temporarily for no more than 1 day. If you need to connect a laptop or share with another traveler, compare that hotspot allowance separately from the unlimited phone data.
Yesim warns that speeds may be reduced under the network operator's Fair Usage Policy and says hotspot availability depends on the operator. The provider pages we checked do not state a numerical daily threshold for Yesim or specific unlimited speed caps for Airalo, Nomad, and Ubigi.
Compare prices after those limits. For 30 days, Ubigi lists unlimited data at US$54.90, Airalo at US$69.00, and Holafly at US$76.50. Ubigi's lower listed price is clear; it is not evidence that its unlimited terms are identical to the others.
Read the network names alongside the price. Airalo names VNPT on its Vietnam page. Holafly names GPC Vinaphone (VNPT). Nomad names Vietnamobile, MobiFone, and Vinaphone, but asks you to check your chosen plan for specific network availability and speed.
Yesim lists SwitchLess Networks and describes it as switching to the strongest available signal. That description is different from naming the local operators available to your plan. Do not treat it as the same kind of network detail as Nomad's operator list.
For a north-to-south route, compare the coverage descriptions with your stops. Saily says coverage is strongest in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, on the Hanoi–Halong Bay highway, and along the coastal corridor linking Da Nang, Hue, and Nha Trang.
Holafly says you can travel around Vietnam without switching eSIMs, while warning that service may be weaker or unstable in mountains or jungles. Nomad says coverage can vary by location and time of day. A countrywide plan does not promise the same connection at every stop.
Check that your phone supports eSIM before paying. The provider pages we checked do not establish compatibility for your specific phone. Then separate installation from activation: downloading an eSIM and starting its plan are not described as the same event by these providers.
Airalo says you can install in advance with a stable internet connection. In the coverage area, turn the eSIM on and select it for mobile data. Holafly says its plan begins when you arrive at your destination and turn on the eSIM.
Saily says activation is automatic on arrival in Vietnam if its eSIM is on and roaming is enabled. Nomad says you can buy and install ahead of time, but must activate within 60 days of purchase; the plan starts automatically when it connects to the destination network.
Check calling needs too. Holafly's Vietnam eSIM is data-only, without a local number for traditional calls or texts. Saily says calls are available with a Vietnam minutes plan, with minutes covering both incoming and outgoing calls.
Yesim lists 1 GB for 30 days at US$3.00, the lowest entry price in our table. For a larger allowance, Ubigi's 50 GB for 30 days at US$36.90 has the lowest listed price per GB, at US$0.74.
Not necessarily. Saily's unlimited plan slows after 5 GB of high-speed data per day until the next day. Holafly and Yesim also describe Fair Usage Policy restrictions.
Saily says it has no hotspot restrictions. Holafly allows 1 GB of sharing per day. Yesim says hotspot availability depends on the operator, so compare sharing rules before choosing.
Airalo names VNPT, Holafly names GPC Vinaphone (VNPT), and Nomad names Vietnamobile, MobiFone, and Vinaphone. Nomad advises checking your plan details for specific network availability.
