Compare
Airalo and Holafly both sell unlimited travel eSIMs. Airalo also gives you data-limited packages, while Holafly centers its travel offer on choosing how many days of unlimited data you need. The useful comparison is not fixed data versus unlimited alone. It is price, speed limits, and how much data you can share.
Airalo costs less for most matching unlimited plans in our price table, but Holafly is cheaper for the South Korea 7-day option. Prices were checked Oct 2026. Neither provider's unlimited label means you can ignore fair use or hotspot rules.
Both cards link to the provider's site through our /go/ redirect. We may earn a commission from either; the counts above come from the price table.
Unlimited plans by days, USD as listed on each provider's destination page, checked Oct 2026. A dash means the page we read did not list that length.

With Airalo, you choose your destination and package. Its range includes local, regional, and global coverage, plus unlimited options. For a data-limited package, Airalo says your data lasts for the stated validity period unless you consume the allowance first. You can purchase, manage, and top up eSIMs in its app.
Holafly asks you to choose your destination and the number of unlimited internet days you need. That suits you if you prefer choosing a trip length rather than estimating a total data allowance. The trade-off is that unlimited phone data and shareable hotspot data have different limits.
Compare matching destinations and durations, not the starting prices on provider pages. In Japan, Airalo lists unlimited data for 7 days at US$26.50, versus Holafly at US$27.50. For 15 days, Airalo lists US$48.00 and Holafly US$50.50. For 30 days, Airalo lists US$69.00 and Holafly US$73.90.
The price gap varies by destination. For Italy, Airalo's unlimited 30-day plan costs US$64.00, versus Holafly's US$64.50. For France, Airalo's unlimited 30-day plan costs US$59.00, versus Holafly's US$73.90. A close price comparison in Italy does not carry over to France.
For Thailand, Airalo lists unlimited 30 days at US$49.00, versus Holafly at US$73.90. South Korea reverses the comparison for 7 days: Holafly lists US$27.50, while Airalo lists US$29.00. Pick your destination and duration before deciding which provider costs less.
Airalo gives you a data-limited alternative if you want to buy an allowance rather than unlimited access. Its Japan, United States, and Italy pages advertise prices from $4.00 USD. Those are starting prices, not the prices of the unlimited plans compared above.
The provider pages we checked do not state the allowance and validity attached to those Airalo starting prices, or a comparable Holafly fixed-data offer. Do not treat a headline price as a complete package comparison. Check the Airalo allowance and expiry before choosing it over an unlimited plan.
Airalo's unlimited page lists 3 GB of high-speed data per day at 20 Mbps. Its fair-use policy says speeds drop to 1 Mbps after you use more than 3 GB. The allowance resets every 24 hours from activation. Airalo also warns that network traffic management can reduce speeds separately from that threshold.
Holafly says its unlimited plans have no strict daily data limit, but local operators can apply fair-use restrictions. Its destination pages describe temporary speed reductions lasting no more than 1 day. The Holafly pages we checked do not state a numerical throttling threshold or reduced speed.
Airalo permits personal hotspot use on unlimited packages without a separate tethering limit or limit on connected devices. Its daily speed threshold still applies. Holafly lists up to 1 GB of hotspot sharing per day for travel eSIMs, including the United States and Thailand. Check your destination's technical specs before buying.
Pick Airalo if you want to compare data-limited and unlimited packages, or if personal hotspot sharing matters. Its unlimited offer has a stated daily speed threshold, so you can weigh that restriction against the price. For longer trips to France or Thailand, the matching Airalo unlimited prices are lower.
Pick Holafly if you prefer choosing unlimited data by trip length and its destination price suits you. Its South Korea 7-day plan costs less than Airalo's matching option. The trade-offs are operator fair-use restrictions and a separate hotspot allowance, so do not choose it on the unlimited label alone.
For a multi-country Europe trip, compare the regional options rather than separate country prices. Airalo lists Europe unlimited for 15 days at US$49.00, versus Holafly at US$51.50. Use the price alongside the fair-use and sharing rules to make your choice.
For most matching unlimited plans in our price table, yes. The exception is South Korea for 7 days: Holafly costs US$27.50 and Airalo costs US$29.00. Compare your exact destination and duration.
Airalo says its unlimited packages have no fixed total data cap. However, after more than 3 GB of daily use, Airalo reduces your speed to 1 Mbps. The allowance resets every 24 hours from activation.
Airalo supports personal hotspot use on unlimited packages without a separate tethering cap, subject to its daily speed threshold. Holafly lists up to 1 GB of daily hotspot sharing for travel eSIMs and tells you to check your destination's plan specs.
Airalo lets you manage and top up eSIMs in its app and says you can renew or top up unlimited plans for more days. Holafly says you can add data or a new package without reinstalling when you have a Reusable eSIM.
