Holafly eSIM: plans, prices and limits

Holafly sells unlimited travel data by the number of days you need, rather than by a fixed GB allowance. That makes trip length the main choice, but it does not remove every limit: network fair use can reduce your speed, and hotspot sharing has a separate allowance.

The trade-off is clear. You avoid choosing a fixed data allowance for your phone, but you should not expect unlimited laptop sharing or rely on the plan for calls and SMS. Our price table compares destination prices; below are the patterns and conditions that matter before you buy.

Fair use, in Holafly's words: "All Holafly plans include unlimited data and up to 1 GB of phone hotspot sharing daily, which is more than enough to supply multiple connected devices with basic internet needs."

What Holafly sells

Holafly says you can choose from 200+ destinations and select the number of unlimited internet days you need. The destination plans in our price table are all sold as unlimited data. You choose the destination and duration, not a fixed bundle of GB.

Holafly's Japan and United States listings include durations from 1 day to 30 days. Other destinations have different prices, so compare the full duration you need rather than the headline starting price.

Do not rely on these plans for local phone service. Holafly's homepage advertises a local phone number as available, but also says you cannot make calls, send SMS, or receive SMS. Those statements conflict. If a local number is essential, ask Holafly to confirm what your chosen plan includes before paying.

Prices on the destinations we track

Several destinations follow the same price pattern. Holafly lists Japan, the United States, France, and Thailand at US$27.50 for 7 days and US$73.90 for 30 days, checked Oct 2026. South Korea matches those prices at those durations.

The differences become clearer on longer plans. Holafly lists the United Kingdom, Europe, China, and Greece at US$76.50 for 30 days. Italy is lower at US$64.50, while Spain and Mexico are US$66.50. Canada is higher at US$95.90 for the same duration.

Short-plan prices do not tell the whole story. Holafly lists 1 day in Japan at US$3.90 and in Canada at US$6.90. Yet its 15-day plans for both destinations cost US$50.50. Use the row for your actual trip length; do not assume the starting price predicts the longer-plan price.

Our price table shows destination plans, not a single worldwide rate. A shared unlimited-data label does not mean every destination costs the same.

Fair use, speed and hotspot

Holafly's FAQ says unlimited plans have no strict daily data limits and that internet access will not completely stop during your trip. That is not a promise of constant speed. Holafly says network congestion, distance from cellular towers, and regional operators' Fair Usage Policy can affect the connection.

Holafly's destination pages describe temporary fair-use restrictions lasting no more than 1 day. Its United Kingdom, Europe, Italy, Spain, Canada, and China pages say reduced speeds reset the following day. The provider pages we checked do not state a data threshold that triggers the restriction or a numerical reduced-speed cap.

Hotspot data is separate from unlimited phone data. Holafly's United States page allows up to 1 GB of sharing per day and says a 7-day plan includes 7 GB of shareable data. Its Thailand page also lists 1 GB per day.

Holafly's general pages describe up to 1 GB of daily hotspot sharing, while its hotspot FAQ tells you to check your destination's technical specifications. Confirm the allowance on your chosen plan rather than treating unlimited data as unlimited tethering.

App, setup and support

You can view your eSIM details in the Holafly app. Holafly tells you to download it from your app store and log in with the email used for your purchase. The provider pages we checked do not give a phone compatibility list or a complete installation procedure.

Holafly advises installing your eSIM no more than 1 day before your trip. It says global and regional plans can activate automatically when they connect to a local network, potentially using active days before you intend.

Holafly says chat support is available around the clock in your own language. Its refund policy allows requests within 6 months of purchase. For a change-of-plans full refund, Holafly requires a website or app purchase and an eSIM that has not been activated; activated or used plans receive case-by-case review.

Who Holafly suits

Holafly suits you if you prefer choosing data by trip length instead of estimating a fixed GB allowance. Its unlimited phone-data model is the main attraction, provided you accept that an operator's fair-use policy can temporarily reduce speed.

It is less suited to you if your main need is sharing substantial data with a laptop or other travelers. Holafly's stated daily hotspot allowance is a separate constraint. It is also a poor match if you need calls or SMS through the travel eSIM.

Before buying, compare your destination and duration in our price table, check the destination's hotspot terms, and resolve any local-number requirement with Holafly. Those details matter more than the unlimited label alone.

Questions travelers ask

Is Holafly data really unlimited?

Holafly says its unlimited plans have no strict daily data limits and internet access will not completely stop during your trip. Speed can still fall under a regional network operator's fair-use policy. Holafly's destination pages describe restrictions lasting no more than 1 day.

Can I use a hotspot with Holafly?

Holafly lists up to 1 GB of daily hotspot sharing on its United States page and 1 GB per day on its Thailand page. Its hotspot FAQ tells you to check your destination's technical specifications. Unlimited phone data does not mean unlimited sharing.

Does Holafly include a local phone number?

Holafly's homepage says a local phone number is available, but also says you cannot make calls, send SMS, or receive SMS. Do not assume your destination plan provides usable local phone service. Ask Holafly to clarify before buying if you need a number.

Can I top up a Holafly eSIM?

Holafly says reusable eSIMs let you add more data or a new package after expiry without installing another eSIM. Its FAQ also says it provides 1 GB of emergency data after your main plan ends; keep the eSIM installed and turned on to use it.
